Bill splitter

Enter the bill and the number of people. Split it evenly, or enter what each person had and the calculator splits the rest of the bill (the shared dishes) evenly. You can add a tip. Works in your browser, with no install and no account.

Example: evenly

The bill is 187.40 zł and there are three of you. 187.40 zł does not divide exactly by three, so one person pays 62.46 zł and two pay 62.47 zł. The total adds up to the grosz.

Example: not evenly

On a 200 zł bill, Ania had 70 zł worth, Bartek 50 zł and Cezary 30 zł. The remaining 50 zł is a shared starter, so it is split three ways. Everyone pays their own items plus their share of the shared ones.

Lots of items?

Typing in amounts for everyone gets tedious on a long receipt. Snap the receipt in Tablejar: the app reads the items, everyone joins with a QR code and taps what they ate. No install, no account.

Frequently asked questions

How do I split a restaurant bill evenly?

Enter the bill and the number of people. The calculator splits the total evenly, and if it does not divide exactly it spreads the difference to the grosz.

How do I split the bill when someone ordered more?

Choose “Not evenly” and enter what each person had. The calculator splits the rest of the bill, the shared dishes, evenly.

How do I split the bill with a tip?

Add a tip in percent. When splitting evenly, the calculator adds it to the bill before dividing; in “Not evenly” mode it spreads the tip in proportion to each person’s share.

What happens with the extra grosze when the amount does not divide?

The calculator shows how many people pay 1 grosz less and how many pay 1 grosz more, so the total adds up to the grosz.

How do we split the bill when everyone ate something different?

The easiest way is to snap the receipt in Tablejar: the app reads the items and everyone taps their own on their phone. Shared dishes split on their own.

Did everyone eat something different?

Snap the receipt: the app reads the items and everyone ticks their own. No install, no account.

How does it work?

1. You photograph the receipt. The app reads its items and you quickly fix any mistakes (or type them in).

2. Everyone else joins via QR code or link, with no account, and taps what they had. Shared items split themselves, you can take "3 of 8 pizza slices" or treat someone.

3. The app shows who owes whom (fewest transfers) and where each amount comes from.

4. You tick off payments in the app, and when everything adds up the settlement closes.
