About the project and how we keep it going

Snap the receipt. Tap what’s yours. Get even.

Tablejar is a fast way to settle shared expenses: you photograph the receipt, everyone marks their items on their phone, and the app works out who owes whom. No installation, in Polish and English.

How does it work?

1. You photograph the receipt. The app reads its items and you quickly fix any mistakes (or type them in).

2. Everyone else joins via QR code or link, with no account, and taps what they had. Shared items split themselves, you can take "3 of 8 pizza slices" or treat someone.

3. The app shows who owes whom (fewest transfers) and where each amount comes from.

4. You tick off payments in the app, and when everything adds up the settlement closes.

Three ways to use it

A night out

A single bill: dinner, a team lunch, coffee. You start a settlement in seconds and others join by QR code, with no account and no installation.

A trip or a party

Several bills in one settlement: lodging, groceries, fuel, dinners. Everything goes into one balance with the fewest transfers and an explanation of the amounts, bill by bill. Requires signing in with email (no password).

A flat: a standing group

For flatmates and families: month-by-month settlements that carry over unpaid balances, shared bills split by weights (e.g. room size), a budget with warnings and recurring expenses such as rent or internet. Requires signing in with email.

In every mode

Service charge and tips split to the grosz, payments and refunds with "I paid back / I received" marks, the organiser can run things for people without a phone, participants can view the receipt photo, settled bills can be hidden in an archive, and you can add the app to your home screen like a normal one.

Your data

The receipt photo is used to read the items and to improve reading quality. It stops being available to participants: for a single bill right after the settlement is closed, for a group 30 days after the settlement is closed. The organiser can delete it at any time.

We record anonymous statistics about how the app is used (e.g. that a bill was created), without the content of bills, item names or individual amounts. Names are used only to split the bill within a group.

How we keep Tablejar going

Basic splitting is free. Running it costs money (server, reading receipt photos), so you can support us voluntarily, and we are thinking about extras for people who scan a lot.

Whatever we do to keep the app running never enters the settlement: it never changes amounts or transfers between people.

Become a Tablejar ambassador

Do you recommend Tablejar to friends, your study group or on trips? Become an ambassador. You get your own link and QR code, a page with your results (you see numbers, never people), an Ambassador title with Silver Jar and Gold Jar levels, early access to new features and a reference. No pay and no cash: this is for people who already recommend what works.

Fill in the application

We use the application data only to contact you about the programme; rejected applications are deleted after 180 days.
